SAF medics launch free circumcision project
TRAINED combat medics of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force are now on a mission to provide a free painless tuli (circumcision) program to poor boys in the country, PNP-SAF director Major General Rudolph B. Dimas said on Sunday.
The official said that the SAF Combat ‘Tuli’ team is composed of SAF medics trained to perform the procedure utilizing a state-of-the-art laser circumcision machine called Model Hyfrecator 2000.
Dimas said that the machine worth P1.5 million was procured by a private group called Donate Philippines, which is a supporter of the police force.
On Saturday, the SAF Combat ‘Tuli’ team, led by Lieutenant Teresa Gay Taguinod, spearheaded a medical, dental and Oplan ‘Tuli’ program at 2-A Osmeña Street in Plaridel 1, Barangay Malabanias in Angeles City.
The SAF medics are using the high-tech machine which ensures a ‘painless and bloodless’ circumcision of young boys.
The PNP-SAF has partnered with the PNP Directorate for Police-Community Relationship headed by Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan O. Okubo to provide free medical and dental assistance and relief missions in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.
