S. Mindanao cops jail 3 most wanted ‘lawbreakers’

POLICE Regional Office 11 director, Brigadier General Benjamin H. Silo Jr. yesterday announced the capture of the most wanted persons in Southern Mindanao following separate manhunt operations last Thursday and Friday.

In a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the official said that one of the suspects identified as Joel Malanson is a former member of the New People’s Army wanted for a non-bailable murder case.

Members of the Kiblawan Municipal Police Station in Davao del Sur led by Captain Ian Marc Polestico arrested the suspect around 5 p.m. Thursday on the strength of a warrant for murder issued by Judge Carmelita Sarno-Davin on October 13, 2017.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Digos City Police Station.

The 2nd identified as Johndrix Escarian, a 28-year old man wanted for statutory sexual was arrested on the basis of a warrant issued by Judge Zarah Aguisando-Silvosa last November 18 with a P180,000 recommended bail.

The 3rd identified as Randy Echavia,39, was arrested in connection with a theft case at the office of the Greengold Security Agency located in Matina, Davao City last Thursday.

The owner of the agency and her liaison officer reported to the local police that they lost seven pieces of caliber 9mm Norinco semi-automatic pistol with 14 steel magazines, a box of cal. .22 ammunition, a LED protector and two laptop computers to the suspect.

A team of local policemen led by Lieutenant Roger Moreno conducted a follow-up operation which led in the arrest of the suspect in his residence in Purok San Vicente in Leon Garcia, Agdao area.

Brig. Gen. Silo said that recovered from the possession of the suspect were four of the stolen pistols, nine magazines, the missing LED projector and 45 pieces of ca. .22 bullets.
