CATARMAN, Northern Samar – UNITEAM senatorial candidate Harry Roque would intensify the program to address the malnutrition problem, which has been the country’s long problem.

The Philippines ranked sixth in East Asia and the Pacific region for having the most stunted children and is among the top 10 countries globally.

Roque, a former congressman, said that presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio would help lessen hunger in the country.

“Tatapusin po sa administrasyon ni Apo Bongbong at Inday Sara,” Roque told the people of Catarman during the campaign rally in the province,” he added.

He added that the Philippines is a medium-income country; thus, no Filipino should experience hunger.

Wala na pong dapat magutom sa medium income country,” he said.

Roque also said he would refile a bill creating the Commission on the Right to Adequate Food to achieve “zero hunger,” which he filed during the 17th Congress.

The bill seeks to determine the minimum amount of food to be given to any person suffering from hunger or undernutrition; provide physical and economic access to food, and set up a well-functioning distribution, processing, and market system.
