PRESIDENT Rodrigo Roa Duterte (PPRD) has described UniTeam senatorial candidate Harry Roque as the best “fit” for the Senate because of his law expertise.
The President, a lawyer, said that Roque is “very bright” and that it would be the Filipinos’ loss if he would not win in the May 9 national elections.
“Mahusay, malikot ang utak, malikot ang bunganga. But, he’s really one of the few international lawyer, UP (University of the Philippines) ito, Bar topnotcher at marunong talaga,” Duterte told Caloocan residents during the PDP-Laban campaign rally.
“Noong naging spokesman, always correct. Minsan nasobrahan pagka-bright, ma-prinsipyo na tao. Sayang kung wala ito sa Senado,” he added.
Meanwhile, Duterte agreed with Roque’s proposal to limit the court trial to three days to serve victims’ justice immediately.
“I subscribe to your ideas. Hindi ko nga kayang gawin ang mga ginagawa mo as an international lawyer eh mas marami kang alam kaysa sa amin,” Duterte told his former spokesperson.
Also, Duterte admitted that he could not be an international lawyer, unlike Roque.
Duterte shared that he took in Roque as his spokesperson despite his criticisms against the President as he wanted “real” and “honest” people.
