Roque lauds Lazatin brothers’ good governance
ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque on Thursday commended the good governance of brothers Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. and Pampanga First District Congressman Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II during his courtesy visit in Angeles City.
“Wherever the late Cong. Lazatin is, I am sure he is very proud of the both of you, having his legacy live on,” said Roque, reminiscing his working days with the elder Lazatin during his stint in Congress.
Roque cited the Angeles City government for its implementation of safety and health protocols being undertaken by the national government.
Roque visited the Sangguniang Panlungsod hall and met with the Lazatin brothers, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, Executive Assistant V Raffy Angeles and the 33 village chiefs.
Roque lauded the world-class Angeleño products, citing the Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Office (ACEDIPO) which supervises the One Town, One Product store of the city government under Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, where local merchants could sell their Gawang Angeleño products, free of charge.
“World-class (ang Angeles) dahil may office na ganito,” Roque said.
When Mayor Lazatin took office, he provided a free venue for the local micro, small and medium enterprises campaigning for “Pasal-One, Angeleño Pa!”
Roque reminded the local officials to ensure their constituents’ safety and health amid the ongoing health crisis, adding the Office of the President is always open to hear concerns from the public.
For his part, Mayor Lazatin said the city government supports the national government in its aim to end this pandemic soon.
Also present during the visit were Angeles City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui and ACEDIPO Officer-in-Charge Irish Bonus-Llego.
Safety and health protocols against COVID-19 were observed, as all officials present during the visit underwent rapid antigen testing and were all declared negative.
