Romualdez gets 2nd highest approval, trust rating among PH’s top officials
NEXT to President Marcos, House Speaker Martin Romualdez in a September survey received the second highest approval and trust rating among the highest officials in the country.
According to a survey conducted by the OCTA Research from Sept. 4-7, Speaker Romualdez obtained a 65 percent approval rating and a 67 percent trust rating.
President Marcos still got the highest rating with a 66 percent approval and a 69 percent in trust rating.
While Senate President Chiz Escudero has a 62 percent approval and 61 percent trust rating.
Vice President Sara Duterte, who used to be the official with the second highest approval and trust rating, fell to the fourth spot.
Duterte currently has a 52 percent approval and 57 percent trust rating.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo got an approval rating of 14 percent and a trust rating of 15 percent.
Some political analysts believe that VP Duterte’s ratings plummeted because of her alleged involvement in controversies including the spending of her confidential and intelligence fund.
The survey respondents might have also disliked her rude behavior during hearings at the House of Representatives and at the Senate these past few months; her threats to dig up the remains of the former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and throw them into the West Philippine Sea; and her imagining beheading the incumbent President Marcos.
