RobSEXY actor Rob Gomez is back to the grind. There was a time when he opted to turn his back from acting after a lot of negative publicity about him spread around.

“Throughout my whole career in show business, so far, the comeback is always greater than the setback,” Rob admitted. “I’m just grinding. I’m working out now, trying to get the best shape of my life, get to the next level. Once again, trying to prove myself anew.”

Rob is grateful to the support of his manager, Dondon Monteverde. We have a very real relationship, very father-like. We don’t really tackle about the problems. We don’t want any negativity surrounding the room

“The negative things around should not be passed on to others,” insisted Rob. “That will not make us feel okay. I decide to listen to my elders.”

Now that he’s a dad, Rob tries to become an ideal father even if he doesn’t live with his daughter with Cebuana beauty queen Shaila Rebortera. The baby just turned a year old and was baptized last December.

“I love my daughter (Amelia) so much,” he said. “Everything about her, from changing diapers to giving her milk and feeding her solid food. I am always willing to be with her.”

Rob recently graced the 10th anniversary party of Dondon’s Virtual Playground, whose name was officially changed to VP Global Management. Dondon owns and manages the company, where he is president, with Charlie Dy as CEO (chief executive officer).

“I think this is the time to work again,” Rob admitted. “I don’t want to cry. I don’t want anyone to take pity on me. I do not wish to share my problems with anyone. I don’t want to talk about my personal life.

“There was a time in my life I was always open about anything that happened to me. This time, I’d like to keep my life private again.”

His daughter undoubtedly gives him the inspiration to resume working again. The girl was named after Anne Hathaway’s character in Princess Diaries,

“She gives me so much fire, so much drive,” Rob said about his princess. “At times, I kind of lose sense of what I’m doing. I just realized, my daughter is my life now.”

After the learning curve that he experienced, Rob is aware he has to be more careful about his projects and leading ladies.

“I’m perceived that I’m a playboy, but I don’t entertain it. I don’t take offense to those who call me that. I am not afraid to be called a playboy.

“I pray that to those people I respect and respect me in return do not forget what I stand for and what I can do in front of the camera.”

Before, they used to call me ‘titillating,’ but now ‘controversial’ na ang tag sa akin. How I wish that gets better soon.”

Rob will join the cast of a soon-to-be filmed action project with details he can’t divulge yet. But that’s something exciting to anticipate about him and he cannot be thankful enough.
