RIZAL, Nueva Ecija – This town’s municipal mayor tested positive again for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, it was learned.

Rizal Mayor Hanna Katrina “Trina” Andres broke out the news on her Facebook account Monday afternoon, saying she contracted the virus after the results of her RT-PCR test came out positive at 4:26 p.m. Monday.

It was the second time she got the virus in less than a year.

It would be recalled that she and her father, former mayor-turned-municipal administrator Rafaelito V. Andres were both confirmed carriers of the COVID-19 virus last July 26, 2021.

Her contracting the virus despite being fully vaccinated came a day after participating in a palay-planting activity organized by the Department of Agriculture (DA). She was seen planting palay along with several others in a rice paddy here.

The lady mayor said the activity was about the DA’s program for transplanting and the techno demonstration of hybrid rice varieties aimed to determine which variety could provide the highest yield for the local farmers in Rizal town.
