THE Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) will discuss boxing, chess, fencing and everything else about sports in the 131st edition of the ”Usapang Sports on Air” this Thursday, Dec.9.

Rio Olympics boxing campaigner Charly Suarez, GMs Rogelio Antonio, Jr. and Darwin Laylo, fencing champion Jojo Viceo and Mindanao Peace Games organizer Noli Ayo will be the special guests in the weekly sports program starting at 10 a.m.

Suarez, a three-time Southeast Asian Games featherweight/lightweight gold medalist, is fresh from beating fellow Filipino Delmar Pellio in their 10-round “Ultimate Knockout Challenge” super featherweight fight at the Elorde Sports Center in Parañaque last Dec. 4

The 33-year-old pride of Sawata, Davao del Norte improved his record to nine wins, six by knockouts, since turning pro in 2019.

Antonio and Laylo will talk about their participation in the 2021 Philippine National Chess Championships on Dec. 9-15 at the Solea Hotel and Resort in Mactan Island, Cebu.

Viceo, who bagged the bronze medal in fencing in the SEA Games, will discuss his plans as councilor in San Rafael, Bulacan, while Ayo will talk about his coming book, Winning Still.

TOPS president Ed Andaya of People’s Tonight is inviting all officers and members to attend the public service program sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Games and Amusements Board (GAB)

TOPS is composed of editors, columnists, reporters and photographers of the country’s leading national tabloids and friends from different social media groups.

This is the 131st episode of the TOPS “Usapang Sports” since its formal launch at the National Press Club in 2018 and its 73rd edition since turning to a new platform due to the pandemic.
