UPLIFTING the health and wellness of communities across the Philippines, notably in the countryside, is not only the concern of the government but also the private sector.

A private foundation is determined to continue renovating military health facilities, village health centers and rural health units, and conducting medical missions.

It has revitalized over 204 health centers, including 41 military facilities, and conducted over 1,625 medical missions in various parts of the country.

Of the 41 military health facilities, 19, 12, nine and one are for the Philippine Army (PA), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Philippine Navy (PN) and Philippine Marines (PM), respectively.

Recently, renovation work was completed on the Basa Air Base Hospital in Floridablanca, Pampanga, which is 64 kilometers northwest of Metropolitan Manila.

The hospital serves military personnel, their dependents, and authorized civilian personnel.

Services include general medicine, surgery, internal medicine, EENT, ECG, X-ray, laboratory work, ambulatory care, preventive medicine and aeromedical services.

Likewise, the Basa Air Base Hospital received laptops, becoming the first military hospital to implement the so-called DigiKonsulta.

Certainly, rehabilitating health facilities, including military hospitals, is a move in the right direction which all sectors must support.
