Retired soldier dies in Laguna motorcycle accident
A 57-year-old retired member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday died in a motorbike accident in San Pablo City, Laguna.
In a report by San Pablo police chief Lt. Col. Franco Allan Reglos to Laguna OIC Provincial Director Col. Gauvin Mel Unos, the victim was identified as Joel Sotelo Biluan, a resident of Southville 10 Plaza Village, Tanay, Rizal.
Investigation showed that at around 12:35 p.m. on Friday, the victim was traveling on Suzuki Burgman motorcycle on way to Tiaong, Quezon when upon reaching Maharlika Highway in Bgy. San Antonio 1 in San Pablo City, the motorbike skidded and landed in a pile of sand while trying to overtake a Toyota Rusi.
The victim was rushed to the San Pablo Medical Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Patrick Ciabal, due to serious head and body injuries.
