LET’S all respect the results of the elections.”

Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte made this call to all sectors and voters, with only few days left before the May 9 elections.

“Lahat po tayo dapat respetuhin natin kung ano ‘yung resulta ng eleksyon at suportahan natin ‘yung mga mananalo, ‘yung mga ihahalal ng ating mga kababayan,” Mayor Sara said in an interview on the program Sa Ganang Mamamayan aired over Net 25 and hosted by Sen. Francis Tolentino.

“We should all pray for honest, orderly and peaceful elections. Let’s love our country,” she added.

In the interview, she wished Filipino workers a belated happy Labor Day, which the country celebrated on May 1.

While she admitted that she could not be the best vice president, Mayor Sara vowed to do all her best to continue to push for several programs for the Filipino workers and for all sectors.

She likewise greeted Muslim Filipinos on the celebration of Eid’l Fitr, the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

“Eid Mubarak. We always pray for Allah’s mercy on our country and for all our countrymen,” she said.

At the same time, the vice presidential frontrunner also reiterated her call for Filipinos to get their booster vaccine against coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19).

“Sa lahat po ng ating mga kababayan, ang pagpapa-alaala ko lagi sa inyo ay kunin niyo po talaga yung booster shot niyo, o pangatlong bakuna sa COVID-19. Napakalaki po ng tulong nun kapag kayo ay nahawa, hindi kayo magiging severe o critical case na mangangailangan ng hospital care,” she stressed.

“I will not say that I will the best vice president we will ever have. We will let history be the judge of that. I am not the best. I am not the most brilliant candidate out there. Pero kung meron kang ipapagawa sa akin, I will move mountains para ma-deliver yan sa iyo,” she said.

Mayor Sara shared her struggles during the campaign period but stood ground on Filipinos’ resilience during prevailing circumstances.

“Tulad ng lahat ng public servants, humuhugot tayo ng lakas sa sarili natin and humuhugot tayo ng lakas (to) our commitment sa mga tao na mag serve sa ating bayan,” Mayor Sara said.

Towards the end of the 90-day campaign period, the UniTeam ticket with her tandem, presidential frontrunner and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, reached a diversity of Filipinos as they toured different places around the country.

She added that she was able to make a connection with different people of different cultures, and proved that Filipinos are like no other.

As she urged Filipinos to get their 3rd shot (booster shot) of Covid-19 vaccine to help the country slowly recover from the pandemic, she thanked everyone for their unwavering support and appealed to respect each other’s political opinions.

“We should pray for an orderly, honest and peaceful elections ngayong darating na Lunes, May 9, 2022. Lahat tayo ay dapat respetuhin natin kung ano ‘yung resulta ng eleksyon at suportahan natin yung mga ihahalal at ipapanalo ng ating mga kababayan,” Mayor Sara said.
