JUSTICE Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla is offering a reward of P6 million for information leading to the swift arrest of suspects in the disappearance of 30 cockfighting enthusiasts known as “sabungeros.”

This as Remulla and representatives from other law enforcement agencies met with the families of the missing individuals at the DOJ building in Manila.

“We are currently continuing our search for the six suspects involved in the disappearance of the sabungeros, which is why we are offering the P6 million reward for anyone who can provide information on the suspects’ whereabouts,” Remulla stated on his Facebook page.

The former Cavite lawmaker reassured the families that the government is doing everything it can to bring the culprits behind the disappearances to justice.

“The families of the missing individuals can rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to bring justice to their loss, as well as to put a stop to this type of crime. Our goal is to have a peaceful country where citizens are protected from harm,” Remulla said.

Earlier on Monday, Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, revealed that they have a lead on the suspect responsible for the disappearances.

“We have an idea, but as the primary investigating agency of the Philippine National Police, we want to make sure our case is solid. We are gathering all the evidence to pinpoint the mastermind,” Caramat said in a chance interview at the DOJ.

However, he declined to reveal the identity of the mastermind, stating, “We want to ensure that our efforts will not go to waste and that the case is airtight.”
