Regular Fil-Am Golf fires off

BAGUIO CITY– Some 700 amateur shotmakers around the country, Asia-Pacific and the United States are seeing action in the regular competition of the 74th Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational here.

In today’s opening salvo, fairway battle focus on Flights A, B,C and E in both divisions (FIL-AM).

In FIL Division, the first two days will be at Camp John Hay and will shift to Baguio Country Club (BCC) for the remaining two days while in the AM Division, the first two days at BCC and the remaining two days at CJH.

On Tuesday (Dec. 10), defending titlists Manila Southwoods 1 and Team Eastridge -PrimeHomes 2 of the FIL and AM Championship flights, respectively , will start their title retention bids.

Top contenders (FIL Championship) are – Eastridge -Primehomes 1 and Januarius Private Equity 1, which placed second and third, respectively.

SPES Team 1 and Time Cargo Logistics 1 are also in the group in the tournament with Januarius Holdings, Inc. as the title sponsor and supported by A Brown, Eastridge, and Toyota as event presenter while Alveo, Tipsy Pig, Aquatico, Moto Lubricant, Master Siomai, Robinsons Land, and Britanny as backers.

Manila Southwoods GCC and Januarius Private Equity 2 ranked second and third last year in AM Championship flight are also back including Batangas Barakos and Valley Golf teams

Meanwhile, Baguio City Representative Mark Go and City Mayor Benjamin Magalong together with Jude Eustaquio, CJHGC manager and Anthony De Leon, BCC general manager, Co-Chairmen of the tournament led in Sunday’s ceremonial tee offs, signalling the official start of Week 2 of the tournament In partnership with BCC, CJHGC, The Manor, Forest Lodge and Le Chef.
