Raps filed vs 2 in foiled kidnap of girl, 15, in LP
THE Las Pinas City Police Office has filed charges of attempted abduction and illegal possession of firearms and explosive against two suspects arrested for the alleged foiled abduction of a 15-year-old girl in Las Pinas City.
Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg said the immediate police operation conducted by operatives of the Special Operations Unit (SOU) and Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of Las Pinas police, under the supervision of city police chief P/Col. Jaime Santos, resulted in the arrest of Leonard Alfaro, 33, and George Caragdag Jr. ,of legal age,
Both had been previously arrested by police for drug cases.
The incident occurred at around 9 p.m. last Wednesday, May 25 in front of a pawnshop along Marcos Alvarez Ave. Brgy. Talon 5 and was caught on closed circuit television (CCTV) camera.
Alfaro was seen alighting from the black sports utility vehicle (SUV) (ABE-5579) parked on the road side and suddenly grabbing the Grade 10 victim who was passing the area.
The victim was forced to get inside the vehicle.
The victim resisted and screamed which called the attention of passing riders and bystanders prompting the suspect to get on their vehicle and speed off towards Moonwalk.
The victim’s father sought the assistance of Brgy. Talon 5 and Las Pinas Police which resulted in the arrest of the suspects. Police recovered from them a hand grenade and a Magnum 357 revolver loaded with five live ammunition.
Alfaro admitted that he was the one who was seen on CCTV but denied that he tried to abduct the victim. He claimed that he only wanted to rob the girl of her personal belongings.

Atin ding kinikilala ang malasakit ng ating mga riders kung kaya’t napigilan ang tangkang pagdukot sa isang menor de edad. Isa rin itong babala para sa mga magulang na bantayan ang kanilang mga anak at maging mapagmatyag dahil itong mga masasamang loob ay walang pinipiling oras at panahon para maghasik ng kanilang mga hindi kanais-nais na gawain,” Macaraeg said in his statement.
