Rape suspect falls in Batangas

A 55-YEAR-OLD farmer charged with two counts of rape was arrested by joint operatives at his home in Bgy. San Vicente, Sto. Tomas City, the other day.

Sto. Tomas City Police Station (CPS) chief Lt. Col. Alfie M. Salang identified the accused as Ricardo Del Rio y Oviar, married and resident of Sto. Tomas City.

The suspect is listed as rank number 3 most wanted person in the provincial Level, said Salang.

Personnel of Sto. Tomas CPS led by PLt. Lilly An M. Derris, chief of PCO, together with the 1st Batangas Provincial Mobile Force Company led by PLt. Warlie Flor U. Contreras served a warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Jose Recuerdo Policarpio Flores of the Regional Trial Court Branch 6 of Tanauan City against the accused around 2:36 p.m. that resulted in his arrest.

No bail was recommended for the accused who was captured by authorities through the reliable information provided by the Barangay Intelligence Network asset, police said.
