RAIN or Shine is winless no more.

The Elasto Painters ended a four-game losing skid with a 122-117 win over Blackwater in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

New import Greg Smith led the way with 38 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Elasto Painters, who finally barged into the win column after four losses.

Smith, who replaced Michael Qualls as Rain or Shine import, went 9-of-17 from the floor — and 5-of-8 from the three-point area — to power the Elasto Painters of coach Yeng Guiao to victory.

“To be honest I was kinda worried because he came from a long flight, hasn’t really been competing the last few months, actually. So I know he’s not in a hundred percent shape,” said Guiao.

“But I guess he just proved me wrong and played his heart out,” I wasn’t really expecting him to score that heavily tonight. Just trying to help out the team in different ways. That’s really a big bonus for us. He can score, create for others, play defense. Last quarter he was really key to stopping Troy Williams,” added Guiao.

Four other players, led by Leonard Santillan, also scored 12 points or more for Rain or Shine.

Troy Williams carried the fight for the Bossing with 40 points and 13 rebounds.

In the nightcap, Magnolia relied on Antonio Hester’s near triple double of 28 points, 18 rebounds and nine assists to roll back Barangay Ginebra, 118-88.

Mark Barroca, Calvin Abueva and Paul Lee provided ample scoring support by adding mat least 18 points apiece.

Justin Brownlee finished with 22 points for the Kings, who dropped from the top all the way down to fifth place at 3-1.
