Radioman stabbed dead
A RADIO broadcaster on Sunday night was stabbed dead in Negros Oriental.
Slain was Renato “Rey” Blanco, a radio broadcaster for POWER 102.1 DYRY RFM based in Mabinay town, Negros Oriental.
An investigation showed Blanco went to a house in Bgy. Humucdongon on Sunday night when for unknown reason attacked with a knife by suspect Charles Yanoc Amada.
Blanco was rushed to Mabinay Community Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival due to fatal wound on his neck
The suspect surrendered and is now detained at the Mabinay Police Station pending the filing of charges against him.
The Presidential Task Force on Media Security strongly condemned the killing of Blanco and assured that justice will be served against the perpetrator.
The victim was the anchor of “Rakrakan sa Hapon Bulls Eye with Rey Blanco” and became famous to his listeners for his hard-hitting commentaries in “Nosi Balasi.”
