QUIBOLOY CAN’T DODGE SUBPOENA
Hontiveros determined to bring pastor before Senate inquiry
“Wag pong pa-victim.”
Irked by Pastor Quiboloy’s portrayal of himself as a victim in the current Senate investigation, Senate Risa Hontiveros made it clear her committee will push through with the subpoena against the leader and founder of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KoJC).
A piqued Hontiveros said the recent statements of Quiboloy holds no water.
She told Quiboloy his attempt at intimidation won’t affect as she vowed to dig deeper into the issues against him.
“Ang hinihingi lang sa inyo ay humarap sa mga legal na proseso, kasama ang proseso ng Senate investigation.” Hontiveros reminded Quiboloy also in a video message.
He also reminded Quiboloy not to use words of intimidation saying this will not affect her as she vowed to dig deeper into the issue.
” Wag niyo pong dalhin sa lenggwahe ng patayan, kahit yan ang nakasanayan niyo.” Hontiveros stressed.
Hontiveros also reminded Quiboloy to make sure that he will attend the hearing as she previously said that a subpoena is stronger that an invitation because failure to attend will give the committee the right to issue him a warrant of arrest and the KOJC pastor can be held in contempt.
“Our next hearing is on March 5 and if Mr. Quiboloy does not show up, I will cite him in contempt and have him arrested.” Hontiveros maintained.
Earlier, in his facebook press conference, Quiboloy said he learned from very “reliable sources” that US government bodies — including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) — are eyeing to conduct rendition on him.
Quiboloy said he and his lawyers were all waiting for the extradition but no extradition is happening. The ongoing case against him in the US has been postponed in several instances.
“Handa rin po ako sa kasong ‘yan, kung ako ay ma-extradite.”
“Pero ayaw na raw po nila ng extradition treaty. Ang kanila pong gagawin ng CIA, FBI, ng US Embassy, at State Department, kasabwat ng ating gobyerno ng Pangulong Marcos at ng First Lady at kung sino pa man ang nasa gobyerno, ako ay rendition ang kanilang gagawin,” he said.
In December 2023, a United States court set a new date for the trial for the criminal cases of Quiboloy to November 5, 2024.
Quiboloy even explained how rendition will be more dangerous compared to extradition.
“Forcibly abduction at If it’s possible, puwede nila akong i-assassinate,” Quiboloy said.
The KOJC leader accused the US government of allegedly offering $2 million or P100 million bounty for his arrest and a supposed plan to plant evidence against him.
“Ang balita namin kung ito ay totoo, sa reliable source, nagsasabi na plaplanting-an daw kami ng bomba, guns, and drugs. Iyan po ay aming babantayan,” Quiboloy said.
Quiboloy is presently facing sex trafficking, fraud, coercion bulk cash smuggling and human trafficking and promotional money laundering other criminal case in the US.
It can be recalled that Quiboloy was given an invitation in the Senate twice already but opted to snub the hearing calling it a mere kangaroo court.
Quiboloy and his lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio even dared Hontiveros and her committee to bring the matter to the proper court in order for them to answer accordingly saying the ongoing investigation of the said committee is already violating his constitutional right as a Filipino.
However, Hontiveros said it is precisely the reason why they are asking Quiboloy to personally attend and personally answer all allegations being hurled against him in order for him to defend himself against his accusers.
Hontiveros reminded Quiboloy that the ongoing investigation is being conducted in aid of legislation.
The committee also invited the alleged leaders of KOJC believed to be part of the so-called KOJC punishers to attend and testify before the investigating body.
