Quezon most wanted person for murder and homicide falls in Batangas

A 42-YEAR-OLD murder and homicide suspect, a native of Candelaria, Quezon, went into hiding for several months before being arrested by the authorities in Tanauan City, Batangas, Monday afternoon.

Tanauan City Police Station top cop Lt. Col Ariel B. Azurin identified the accused as Nestor Baon y Umali, single, jobless, a native of Bgy. Pahinga I, Candelaria Quezon and presently residing at Bgy. Sulpoc, Tanauan City.

Azurin said elements of Tanauan City PS conducted an operation around 2:20 p. m. on October 4, at Bgy. Poblacion 4, Tanauan City against the wanted person who was listed as rank No.10 at the provincial level.

The accused was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder dated March 11, 2021, with no bail recommended, and another warrant of arrest for homicide was issued dated May 19, 2021, with P200,000 bail applied, Azurin said.

Both warrants of arrest were issued by Presiding Judge, Charito M, Macalintal Sawali of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 66, in Tanauan City.

Police records said the incident was happened sometime on November 15, 2020, in Bgy. Sulpoc when the suspect murdered the victim identified as Isiderio Escrito y Amudea, and on March 12, 2021, the suspect was also charged with homicide for killing one Edwin Natividad y Medrano.

Azurin said the accused was a member of the Andal gun-for-hire group.
Body Worn Camera (BWC) was properly used by police during the conduct of the said operation.
