LUCENA CITY – The Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) has a new police director in the person of Col. Ruben Lacuesta.

Lacuesta assumed the post vacated by his predecessor Col. Ledon Monte in a well-attended turnover ceremony held at Camp Guillermo Nakar, this city on Monday.

Quezon Governor Angelina “Doktora Helen” Tan was the guest of honor and speaker in the event.

Calabarzon police deputy regional director for administration Col. Christopher Abecia presided the turnover of command.

In his acceptance speech, Lacuesta thanked Tan and Calabarzon police chief Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas for his appointment as full pledge provincial director.

Lacuesta asked the support and cooperation of all the police commanders and unit heads and personnel to work hand-in-hand with him in maintaining peace and order and progress in the insurgency- free province of Quezon.

Saying he has been dreaming to serve Quezon since 2022, Lacuesta promised to do and deliver his best just like what Monte did.

He vowed to respect the human rights of every individual while doing police operations and implementing the law.

Tan expressed her gratitude to Monte for doing his best during his more than two years stint as police director.

“Actually, Col. Monte’s performance and efficiency even exceeded my expectations,” said the lady governor.

She urged Lacuesta to do his part and continue what they have started in the province.

Tan, who chairs the Regional and Provincial Peace and Order Councils in Calabarzon region and Quezon province, respectively, asked Lacuesta to keep Quezon police, under his stewardship, as a strong partner of the local government units and the military in maintaining Quezon a safe place to live in and do business.
