Quezon cops arrest drug-dealing Muslim trader
LUCENA CITY — Operatives of the Quezon Police Provincial Office on Wednesday scored anew with the arrest of a Muslim trader and the confiscation of some P1.8 million worth of illegal drugs in a sting in Bgy. Ibabang Dupay, this city.
Quezon police director Col. Ledon Monte identified the nabbed suspect as Alibsar Macarangkat Macasari, a 35-year-old trader and a resident of GMA, Cavite/
Monte said Macasari, a native of Bgy. Gata Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur, was caught while handing shabu to a poseur buyer during a well-planned buy-bust carried out by joint elements of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit under Maj. Milo Tabernilla, the Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Lucena City Police Station.
The police director said Macasari yielded four heat-sealed plastic sachets and three knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing around 400 grams of shabu worth P8,160,000., and 60 pieces of marked P1,000 bills used as buy -ust money.
Monte said the suspect is a big-time shabu distributor operating in Cavite and listed as a “high-value” individual target.
“His activity was divulged by an illegal drug courier who was earlier arrested. And with his arrest, the entry of illegal drugs in Quezon will be minimized if not totally prevented,” said Monte.
The suspect be charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
