
QCPD: QC crime incidents dip by 25%
THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Redrico A. Maranan announced the continuous decrease of crime incidents in Quezon City for the past week.
For three consecutive weeks, the eight focus crimes (murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, theft, robbery, car theft, and motorcycle theft) decreased from 62 incidents recorded on September 11-17, 2023 to 43 incidents on September 18-24, 2023. This shows the decrease of 19 incidents or 30.65%.
Further, from 43 incidents of the previous week, the QCPD recorded 40 incidents from September 25 to October 1, 2023, which decreased by three incidents or 6.98%, while on October 2 to 8, 2023, 30 crime incidents were recorded and which showed a decrease by 25% or 10 incidents.
Meanwhile, the sudden decrease of street crimes can be attributed to the deployment of the Task Force-District Anti-Criminality Response Team (TF-DART) and the12 hour-duty scheme of policemen which increased their presence in Quezon City.
“Ito ay resulta ng ating pinaigting na anti-criminality operations na nakatutok sa preventive measures kabilang rito ang enhance police presence, 24 hours checkpoint, ang Task Force-DART na nagsasagawa ng oplan galugad/bulabog, at ang napapanahong pagtugon sa mga emergency calls na nagpapakita ng kahandaan na maglingkod sa mga panahon ng pangangailangan. Ito ay isang napakahalagang bahagi ng ating misyon na siguraduhin ang mga residente ng Quezon City ay ligtas sa lahat ng oras,” said Maranan.
