QCPD nabs 3 drug suspects, 2 wanted persons, 13 gamblers in anti-crime ops

QUEZON City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III announced the arrest of three drug suspects, two wanted persons, and the rounding up of 13 gamblers during round-the-clock anti-drug and anti-criminality operations in Quezon City.

In the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, three were arrested by elements of Project 6 Police Station (PS 15) and District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU).

PS 15 operatives under PLt.Col. Norman Florentino arrested Jimmy Saavedra, 45, resident of Edsa, Balintawak, Quezon City, and Jerome Mercado, 32, resident of Brgy. Sta. Teresita, Quezon City, at about 9:11p.m. of January 14,2023, at 21 corner 23 FEMA Road, Brgy. Bahay Toro, Quezon City. Confiscated were six sachets of shabu valued at P13,600 and the buy-bust money.

DDEU agents under PMAJ Hector Ortencio arrested Marvin Donato, 28, resident of Brgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, at about 9:30 p.m., January 14, 2023 at 127 Santan Street, Pingkian Zone 3, Brgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City. Confiscated were more or less 11 grams of shabu valued at P74,800, a cellular phone and the buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In the campaign against wanted persons, two were arrested including the No. 6 Station Level Most Wanted Person of the Novaliches Police Station (PS 4).

PLt.Col. Jerry Castillo, PS 4 commander, identified their No. 6 Station Level Most Wanted Person as Romico Garcia Dela Cruz, 25, resident of Brgy. Tagumpay, Bay, Laguna.

The suspect was nabbed at about 3:10 p.m. of January 14, 2023, in his residence for violation of Sec. 11 Art. II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by QC Regional Trial Court Branch 103 Judge Felino Zabala Elefante.

Meanwhile, Project 4 Police Station (PS 8) operatives under PLt.Col. Leoben Ong served a warrant of arrest against Marlon Digma, 43, resident of Brgy. E. Rodriguez, Cubao Quezon City, at about 9:30 a.m. of January 14, 2023 at the PS 8 Custodial Facility for estafa.

The courts of origin will be notified of the arrest of the accused.

Thirteen were nabbed in the campaign against illegal gambling.

Masambong Police Station (PS 2) elements under PLt.Col. Resty Damaso arrested Michael Eusebio Buce, 46; Manuel Bautista Lontoc Jr., 25; and Peejay Merida Duran, 40, all residents of Barangay Paltok, Quezon City at about 3 p.m. of January 14, 2023 along Ilagan Street, Barangay Paltok, Quezon City for playing tong-its.

Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) members under PLt.Col.Mark Janis Ballesteros apprehended Rommel Manliclic, 42, resident of Brgy. Unang Sigaw, Quezon City and Renato Guial, 53, resident of Caloocan City at about 9:20 p.m. of January 14, 2023 at Ilalim ng Tulay, Brgy. Balon Bato, Quezon City for playing cara y cruz.

Batasan Police Station (PS 6) operatives under PLt.Col. Morgan Aguilar collared Julius Errabo Reballos, 44; Regidor Mahinay Baruc, 51; Joey Dela Cruz Castro, 49, all residents of Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City; and Marc John Bola Tenerife, 30, resident of Brgy. Old Balara, Quezon City at about 3:35 p.m. of January 14, 2023 along Laura St., Barangay Old Balara, Quezon City for playing poker pool/billiard.

Operatives of the Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) under PLt.Col. Roldante Sarmiento arrested Justine Dumalao, 18; Ricardo Bohol, 22; Jun Jun Danas, and two minors, all residents of Brgy, Payatas, Quezon City at about 8 p.m. of January 14, 2023 along Visayas St., Barangay Payatas, Quezon City for playing cara y cruz.

Officers of PS 13 collared Daniel Suarez Tolin, 30, and Alejandro Bonavente Bongalosa, 46, both residents of Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City at about 9 p.m. of January 14, 2023 along Sorsogon Street, Brgy. Payatas, Quezon City also for playing cara y cruz.

Several illegal gambling paraphernalia and bet money were confiscated from the arrested suspects who are facing charges for violation of P.D. 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

PBGen. Nicolas Torre III commended the officers, men and women of QCPD for their accomplishments. “Mas paiigtingin pa namin ang aming anti-criminality operations na naglalayong mapanatili ang kapayapaan sa ating lungsod.” he added.
