QCPD nabs 156 crime, drug suspects
THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has rounded up 156 individuals from September 3 to 9, 2023 during a series of arrests against criminality in the city.
QCPD Director PBGEN. Redrico A Maranan said the police operations were conducted by virtue of search warrants, particularly the buy-busts and other special police interventions.
A total of 26 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted that led to the arrest of 50 drug suspects, 25 of whom are users, and 25 are pushers. A total of 71.26 grams of shabu and 114.4 grams of marijuana with a combined value of P498,296 were confiscated.
“Manhunt Charlie,” a program that aims to track down persons with pending warrants of arrest, was also conducted. The program led to the arrest of 53 wanted persons.
On anti-illegal gambling, 22 operations were conducted, which resulted in the arrest of 50 gamblers and the confiscation of several gambling paraphernalia and bet money worth P5,965.
In the campaign against loose firearms, two operations were completed and resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of three firearms.
