QCPD braces security for ‘Ligtas Undas 2022’
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III assured the public of strengthened police security in order to have a peaceful observance of All Souls’ and All Saints’ Day 2022.
The Undas 2022 is expected to generate a large influx of people to the cemeteries and columbaria, especially with the downgrading of the COVID-19 alert level.
Thus, the QCPD will deploy more or less 4,000 in all cemeteries and columbariums as well as bus terminals, MRT/LRT stations, and malls within the Quezon City area to ensure peace and order, public safety, and to enforce the IATF Minimum Public Health Standards (MPHS).
Police assistance desk in every cemetery and columbary were also established to give immediate assistance needed by the public and also can be used for surveillance and other operations of police work.
Recently, the QCPD Drone Squadron was also launched to be deployed to cemeteries, columbaries, and other crowded places for its anti-criminality operations. This will be operated by well-trained drone pilot operators who will send a live feed to the command center in QCPD Headquarters.
The deployment of QCPD is being supplemented by NCRPO (National Capital Region Police Office) personnel and force multipliers such as barangay tanods, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and other concerned agencies.
“Pinapaalalahanan po natin ang ating mga kababayan na mag-ingat at sumunod sa mga panuntunan ng ating lokal na pamahalaan para sa isang ligtas na paggunita ng Undas 2022. Mahigpit po na ipinagbabawal ang pagdadala ng mga matatalim na bagay, baril, alak o anumang uri ng inuming nakakalasing at pagsusugal sa loob ng sementeryo,” said Torre III.
“Kung sakali man pong may mapansin kayong kahina-hinala at ‘di kaaya-aya sa inyong kapaligiran ay huwag mag-atubiling makipag-ugnayan sa ating mga kapulisan sa pamamagitan ng pagtawag sa hotline 122 at sinisigurado namin na sa loob ng dalawa hanggang tatlong minuto ay maaaksyunan ang inyong suliranin o hinaing. Makakaasa po kayo na hindi hahayaan ng pamunuan ng QCPD na samantalahin ng mga kriminal o mga masasamang grupo na makagawa ng anumang bagay na makasisira sa kaayusan at seguridad ng ating pamayanan,” he added.
