CHRISTMAS is around the corner. Quezon City has participated in the simultaneous opening of Kadiwa ng Pasko stores on Wednesday, which aims to bring cheaper prices of goods to Filipinos.

QC Fifth District Rep. PM Vargas lauded this effort of the Department of Agriculture Secretary, President Bongbong Marcos.

“We express our all-out support to government programs that can ease the burden of our constituents especially from the higher cost of living caused by the pandemic-induced recession,” Vargas said.

Together with Vargas, the event was graced by President Marcos’ eldest son, House senior Deputy Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos and Mayor Joy Belmonte.

On Facebook, Marcos thanked the farmers, fisherfolk, micro small and medium enterprises, and everyone who made the program possible.

Kadiwa Stores also aim to help our local farmers and producers who can sell their products to Metro Manila and nearby areas while providing access to fresh and affordable food to consumers.

Aside from Kadiwa ng Pasko, the DA program has three other variants — Kadiwa on Wheels, Kadiwa Retail, and Kadiwa Online, where people can buy cheaper goods like rice grains at P25 per kilogram.

Eleven other Kadiwa ng Pasko stores were launched today in the National Capital Region, one in Tacloban City, another in Davao de Oro, and in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

“The establishment of Kadiwa store in Quezon City is a step closer to achieving a more prosperous Christmas by our QCitizens especially those who belong to the marginalized sector of our society,” Vargas said.
