QC gov’t extends P10 million financial assistance to Kristine-hit Bicol region
THE Quezon City government gave P10 million financial assistance to nine localities in the Bicol region that were hardly hit by the recent severe tropical storm “Kristine.”
Mayor Joy Belmonte praised the council headed by Vice Mayor Gian Sotto for working double time in approving Resolution 9833 as recommended by the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council.
Of the nine LGUs, seven are in Camarines Sur which will receive P8 million with Iriga City to get P2 million share.
The municipalities to receive P1 million are Bato, Nabua, Bula, Buhi, Pili, and Tinambac.
In Albay Province, the municipalities of Libon and Guinobatan will each receive P1 million.
“Ito’y bahagi ng aming tungkulin na tulungan ang aming kapwa lokal na pamahalaan para sila’y makabangon mula sa epekto ng kalamidad,” Belmonte said.
In thanking VM Sotto and the entire council, Mayor Belmonte said; “Umaasa tayo na malayo ang mararating ng tulong na ito para sa mga taga-Bicol.”
The financial aid will be sourced from Quezon City’s accumulated Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (LRDDM) Trust Fund.
