BUSINESS owners in Quezon City (QC) can now quickly request and pay for their business tax assessment by logging into the QC E-Services platform.

Mayor Joy Belmonte said that the move is part of the “streamlining” efforts of the city along with the online business permit application, which was previously launched in October 2020.

She said that both online systems are expected to make paying taxes easier and less stressful for business owners.

“We are returning the favor to our business owners, who are among the primary drivers of our growth. By delivering efficient systems and services, the city government can help them save time and focus more on growing their businesses,” Belmonte explained.

City Treasurer Ed Villanueva, on the other hand, disclosed that all business owners who wish to request their local business tax assessment could log in to the QC E-Services portal (https://qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph) under the “Pay Business Tax” menu.

Villanueva added that businesses registered in the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and those not registered like sari-sari stores may use the online application.

Taxpayers are reminded to prepare all applicable documents which should be uploaded to the system, such as Notarized Monthly Gross Sales, Proof of Authority, Certificate of Authority from DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), and Mayor’s Permits of other branches outside Quezon City.

Once all necessary information is supplied, and documents are submitted, both the tracking number and acknowledgment receipt will be sent via the registered email address.

After being evaluated, depending on the completeness of documents and complexity, the City Treasury will send the final tax assessment bill through the portal.

A “Pay” button will also appear on the user’s business tax payment page.

Taxpayers can choose between online payment through GCash or Paymaya (now Maya) or via manual payment at any branch of Landbank of the Philippines.

Belmonte likewise reminded taxpayers to be vigilant and report fixers via the “People’s Corner” on the official website of the Quezon City Government (www.quezoncity.gov.ph).

“We hope our business owners will take time to familiarize themselves with our online system, which eliminates the need for middlemen or fixers. At the same time, we call on our QCitizens to help us apprehend fixers who try to extort from them their hard-earned money. Don’t be afraid, as we will protect you until the end,” said Belmonte.
