UNITEAM senatorial candidate Herbert “Bistek” Bautista on Thursday said Quezon City will go for the UniTeam presidential-vice presidential tandem of former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (BBM) and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Bautista’s statement was shared by AnaKalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor and 2nd District Councilor Winnie Castelo, who are candidates for city mayor and vice mayor, respectively.

“Noong nakaraang 2016 presidential elections, sa Quezon City, ang nanalong presidente ay si PRRD, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, at yung nanalong vice president ay si President Bongbong Marcos,” Bautista told the members of the Batasan Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (BATODA) during the meet-and-greet with Duterte and other local aspirants at the Batasan tricycle terminal in Quezon City.

He said UniTeam candidates if they get elected, would try to bring down the cost of electricity in the country like what the province of Ilocos Norte did with its windmills project.

Echoing Bautista’s appeal, Defensor, who is running for mayor under the Malayang Quezon City coalition, said he has no doubt that Quezon City would vote for BBM-Sara and their senatorial and local candidates.

This is because of the numerous social amelioration programs implemented by President Duterte’s administration, Defensor said.

Defensor said many city residents are migrants from Mindanao and Visayas who would surely vote for the BBM-Sara tandem.

“Hindi lang kinatawan ng Mindanao kundi kakatawan sa buong Quezon City ang ating susunod ng Bise Presidente Sara Duterte,” he said.

For his part, Castelo said he is confident that at least 70% of Quezon City’s more than 1.4 million voters would go for the BBM-Sara tandem.

Defensor and Castelo also said Quezon City would choose Bautista, its former mayor, as its no. 1 senator.

Charlie Mangune, who heads the BATODA, said his group is sure that UniTeam would help the transport sector.

Sara all! Sara all!,” Mangune said.

Aside from Defensor and Castelo, candidates and members of the Malayang Quezon City coalition attended the event.
