A 34-year-old jeepney driver was shot and killed in front of his live-in partner inside their house Monday before dawn in Caloocan City.

Caloocan Police Chief P/Col. Edcille Canals said the victim, identified as alias “John Bryan”, died on the spot from two gunshot wounds in the head and body after being shot by a still unidentified gunman at the doorstep of his rented house at No. 1431 Sampaloc Ext. Bgy. 178, Camarin at around 2:10 a.m.

Investigation showed that the victim and his live-in partner, identified as alias “Geralyn”, were drinking inside their abode when they heard someone knocking at the door.

When John Bryan opened the door to check, he was immediately shot twice by the suspect.

The gunman immediately escaped on board a motorcycle driven by his cohort toward Repar St. Bgy. 178.

Col. Canals instructed his men to conduct a follow-up operation for possible identification and arrest of the suspects while the motive behind the killing is yet to be determined.
