PRO9 agents capture 5 most wanted men

FIVE most wanted persons in Western Mindanao were arrested last week by agents of the Police Regional Office 9 in separate manhunt operations in the region, PRO9 director Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey M. Masauding announced yesterday.

The official said that one of the suspects identified as Gary Pahinte, a member of the New People’s Army tagged as among the Regional Most Wanted Persons, was tracked down in his hiding place in Bgy. Sanito in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay by members of the PRO9, the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and PNP Special Action Force.

Another operation in Sitio Labuyo, Bgy. Gango, RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay, resulted in the arrest of jail officer Rodney Superales, who is wanted for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004. The accused is now under the custody of the CIDG.

The third identified as Altap Muddih, tagged as the no 2 most wanted person in Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte, was arrested in Purok 5, Bgy. Sta. Isabel, on the basis of a warrant for violation of RA 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Law of 2016 issued by the Dipolog City Regional Trial Court Branch 9.

The fourth identified as Romolo Gumiason, listed as the 3rd most wanted person in the region, was tracked down in his hiding place in Purok 2 in Bgy. Tinindugan in Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte and placed under arrest on the strength of a non-bailable warrant for rape and qualified rape of a minor issued by the Dipolog City RTC Branch 3.

The suspect is now being held at the CIDG Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Field Unit lock-up facility.

Masauding said his men, along with officers from the CIDG Region 9 and Zamboanga del Sur PFU and the Philippine Army, also arrested a 17-year-old male in Bgy. Labangong in Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, last Thursday on the basis of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Molave RTC Branch 23.

The young male suspect was turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for proper custody, in accordance with the provisions for handling juveniles in conflict with the law, the PRO9 director said.

The sixth identified as Raricris Decena, described as the 5th most wanted person in Region 9, was arrested on the same day in Bgy. Tugbugan in Zamboanga City.

A native of Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur, the accused was arrested on the basis of a warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by the Pagadian City RTC Branch 22.
