OVER P1.4 million worth of high-grade shabu were confiscated from two high-value drug targets in Central Visayas who were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Bohol last Thursday, Police Regional Office 7 director, Brigadier General Roque Edgardo DP Vega said.

In a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the PRO7 director identified the arrested suspects as Irwin Ang alias ‘Tabs,’39; and Zacarias Gondong alias ‘Pasmo,’35, both residents of Purok 4, Barangay San Isidro in Tagbilaran City in Bohol.

Brig. Gen. Vega said that the two were arrested during a sting in their neighborhood shortly before 12 midnight Thursday.

Recovered from the duo were 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around 220 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P1.496 million and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill.

A metallic silver Toyota Vios used by the two to transport the drugs was also impounded by the local police.

Both suspects are now being held at the Tagbilaran City police lock-up facility facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said the Central Visayas police director.
