CrimeTHE Police Regional Office 4-B headed by Brigadier General Roger L. Quesada has noted a massive 23.76 percent reduction in crime volume in the region composed of Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan last month.

In a report to Philippine National police chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, the PRO4-B director said they registered only 292 crime incidents from January 1 to 26 compared to the 383 cases recorded during the same period in 2024.

“Rape cases, in particular, saw a 64.52 percent decrease in early 2025, with reported cases dropping from 31 in 2024 to just 11 during the same period this year. On an annual basis, rape cases declined significantly, from 520 in 2023 to 391 in 2024—a 24.81 percent reduction,” Brig. Quesada said.

The MIMAROPA police director attributed these to the collective efforts of the police force on strategic planning, enhanced police visibility, and strong community partnership.

Last year, the PRO4-B also reported a big accomplishment in the campaign against illegal drugs after it confiscated over 15 kilograms of shabu and other illegal substances worth over P101.6 million.

Brig. Gen. Quesada said the prohibited drugs were recovered as a result of 402 anti-narcotics operations which they conducted in 2024 leading to the arrest of 475 targets, now all facing criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The official said that their 2024 drug haul was higher than the 3.04 kg. of illegal drugs valued at P8.57 million which they confiscated as a result of 339 operations in the region in 2023.

From January 1 to 29 this year, the PRO4-B director said they have already launched 31 anti-drug operations which led to the arrest of 35 suspects and the confiscation of nearly P1 million worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine.’

The PRO4-B also arrested 44 Most Wanted Persons and 116 Other Wanted Persons last year amid its intensified drive to account for all lawbreakers in the region who are hiding from the law.

“These accomplishments reflect the tireless dedication of our operatives and our strong partnerships with various Philippine National Police units in keeping our communities safe,” Brig. Gen. Quesada said.

He also commended the dedication of law enforcement personnel and reaffirmed PRO Mimaropa’s commitment to its intensified anti-drug campaign.

“We are continuously refining our enforcement strategies, increasing community engagement, and utilizing advanced technology to strengthen our anti-drug operations,” Quesada said.
