PRO 13 gets gets Gold Eagle Award
THE Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 headed by Brigadier General Pablo G. Labra II this week was conferred the Performance Governance System or PGS ‘Institutionalized Status’ and Gold Eagle Award for its remarkable commitment to excellence in government service.
The Caraga police force got the award for its outstanding implementation of the PGS, which is aimed at transforming the 228,000-strong police force to a more credible, effective and efficient organization.
Philippine National Police Deputy Chief for Administration, Lieutenant General Rhodel O. Sermonia led the conferment ceremony at Camp Crame along with Mel Senen Sarmiento, chairman of the National Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (NAGPTD), and Brigadier Gen. Victor V. Arevalo, director of the Center for Police Strategy Management.
The PRO 13, with the support of the Regional Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development led by Mr. Ryan Anthony Culima, achieved the highest PGS award by attaining an impressive overall rating of 97.16 percent during the Institutionalization Evaluation Process.
Labra acknowledged the unwavering support of their various stakeholders, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ C. Abalos Jr., PNP chief General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr. and the PRO 13 Technical Working Group 13, the Regional Police Strategy Management Unit 13 and the entire Caraga police force for their achievement.
The implementation of PGS by PRO 13 yielded remarkable results, including a reduction in the Regional Average Monthly Crime Rate, increased police activities for tourism, improved Regional Crime Clearance Efficiency and Solution Efficiency, high fill-up percentages for mobility and investigative equipment, complete fill-up of small arms and the establishment of several standard police stations.
Moreover, a satisfaction trust index survey administered by Dr. Adrian M. Tamayo through the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) revealed an exceptionally high satisfaction rating for PRO 13.
Attaining the Institutionalized Status which is the final stage of the PGS pathway, signifies the validation of PRO13’s transformational breakthroughs and demonstrate the tangible and highly visible impacts of its journey on its stakeholders.
Gen. Acorda commended PRO 13 for their outstanding performance and operational effectiveness leading to their Gold Eagle Award.
