Poll bet killed in Pampanga ambush
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – A municipal councilor candidate and his companion were killed while their driver was hurt after the vehicle they were riding was peppered with bullets on Bambang Road, Bgy. San Miguel in San Simon, Pampanga Saturday morning.
Pampanga police acting director Col. Robin King Sarmiento identified the fatalities as municipal councilor candidate Rogelio Salvador Jr., 42, and Joel Salvador, while driver Arnel Caparas was injured, all residents of Concepcion, San Simon, Pampanga.
The victims were in a Chevrolet Trailblazer with plate number CDZ 5651 heading to Bgy. San Jose, San Simon, Pampanga when a car from the opposite lane fired at the victim’s vehicle multiple times.
Police are conducting an investigation on the motive behind the gun attack.
