PNP-IMEG brings joy to over 1K poor Antipolo folk

OFFICERS and men of the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) this week took a respite from their mission to jail rogues in uniform to bring joy to over 1,000 poor residents of a small village in Antipolo City three weeks before Christmas.

Headed by Brigadier General Warren F. de Leon, the PNP-IMEG ‘Pamaskong Handog 2022’ brought a medical, dental and optical mission and a feeding and outreach program to residents of Barangay Calawis in Antipolo City in coordination with Bgy. Chairman Allan Abonio.

Brig. Gen. de Leon was joined by key PNP-IMEG officers as well as representatives from the PNP Health Service led by Colonel Ma. Nenita S. de Leon, the IMEG Advisory Group, their different stakeholders and donors and officials of Bgy. Calawis in bringing their own brand of service to the Bgy. Calawis residents during the program held at the Calawis Gymnasium on Wednesday.

The program saw the PNP-IMEG giving 10 wheelchairs to Persons with Disabilities in the area; 200 bags filled with school supplies, 100 packs of vegetable seeds, 120 pieces of eyeglasses, two bales of used clothes, 200 health kits, 200 pairs of slippers, 300 cups of porridge and medicines of vitamins.

The unit also handed over a complete set of medical pack to the Bgy. Calawis Health Center.

The medical mission benefited 502 residents while 162 got free dental treatment. A total of 257 indigent residents joined the feeding and outreach program while 102 got free eyeglasses.

Brig. Gen. de Leon thanked those who supported them in their outreach program specifically the PNP-HS, the Beta Sigma Fraternity Philippines, the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Executive Squadron, the IMEG Advisory Group, the Isaac Puno Masonic Lodge Number 401 and Agriportal Philippines.

“This outreach mission is in line with the Malasakit program under the MKK=K peace and security framework of PNP chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. and part of our effort to bring the PNP-IMEG much closer to the public in order for us to accomplish our mission well,” the official said.

Gen. Azurin’s MKK=K program stands for Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran.
