PNP-IG policemen nab wanted folk

PNPNINE most wanted persons, led by a man who has been hiding from the law since 1993, were arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Intelligence Group (PNP-IG) late last month, the Journal Group learned.

PNP-IG acting director, Colonel Francie C. Candelario said the latest to be nabbed was one Allan Bagatua alias Dennis, 57, who has been wanted by the law for more than 31 years.

In a report to PNP chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, Candelario said that operatives of the PNP-IG Regional Intelligence Unit 4-A developed the ‘intelligence packet’ that resulted in the capture of the accused in front of the Muzon Harmony Hills High School in Bgy. South Muzon, San Jose del Monte City around 8:30 p.m. last October 29.

Col. Candelario said the accused is the subject of a non-bailable warrant of arrest for murder.

Court records showed that alias Dennis is the prime suspect in the killing of Brgy. Pulang Lupa, Las Piñas City Councilor Edgardo Jimenez.

He went into hiding since then.

The official said that his men were assisted by operatives from the PNP-IG RIU National Capital Region and the Quezon City Police District Intelligence Division in arresting the fugitive.

The nine other most wanted persons were arrested by agents of the PNP following information on their whereabouts developed by the PNP-IG.

One of the suspects, John Palileo, 20, is wanted for rape. He was arrested by members of the RIU2 of the PNP-IG and Isabela Police Provincial Office in Brgy. Turayong last October 18.

Joseph Ontong, 52, was arrested in Sitio Maampoon, Brgy. Ibabao in Cordova, Cebu for frustrated murder. Welson Lendio, 32, was arrested in Sitio Dumpsite in Brgy. San Luis, Antipolo City by RIU13 and RIU 4-A agents also for murder. Joker Pangngah, 32, was captured for four counts of qualified rape and violation of Republic Act 7610 or the anti-child abuse law.

Lida Baldomar, 38, an employee of the Department of Education Negros Oriental Division, was arrested by RIU 7 and CIDG men in Brgy. Taclobo, Dumaguete City for violation of RA 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. The 6th suspect, Arnel Selosa, 42, was arrested for rape by sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness.

Manuel Bacuyag, 66, was arrested for child abuse.

Gilbert Acebo, 51, was arrested in Brgy. Alegria in Alabel, Sarangani for frustrated murder.
