PNP-HPG nets 2 most wanted car thieves
THE Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group yesterday announced the arrest of two most wanted car theft suspects in Calabarzon region following separate anti-carnapping operations in Laguna.
The two were identified by PNP-HPG director Brig. Gen. Alexander Tagum as George Mensurado, the no. 1 most wanted carnapper in Region 4-A, and Uzo Hirose, the 8th most wanted carnapping personality in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
Members of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4-A headed by Lt. Col. Samson Belmonte arrested the suspects last Wednesday.
Mensurado was tacked down in his hiding place in Bgy. San Isidro in Pagsanjan municipality by members of the Laguna Provincial Highway Patrol Team led by Maj. Charlie Reyes and the RHPU4-A Special Operations Team headed by Capt. Russel Oñate.
The suspect was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 19883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 issued by Judge Iluminado dela Peña of the Santa Cruz, Laguna Regional Trial Court.
The judge recommended a P180,000 bail for the temporary liberty of the accused.
Hirose was arrested on Vergil corner Mozart Sts., Santa Rosa State 1 in Sta. Rosa City on the basis of warrant of arrest for violation of RA 10883 issued by Judge Rosauro Angelito David of the Sta. Rosa City RTC. No bail was recommended for the liberty of Hirose.
Belmonte said that his men also recovered a “hot vehicle” described as a 2018 Nissan Juke during a follow-up operation. The vehicle is registered under the name of Princes Marquez of Camaligan, Camarines Sur. Alfred Dalizon
