PNP-DEG agents jail 14 drug targets

PHILIPPINE National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) director, Brigadier General Narciso D. Domingo on Sunday announced the arrest of 14 drug targets in the country as a result of their continuing war on drugs.

In a report to PNP chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the official said that one of the suspects identified as Miguel Ignacio alias ‘Ampie,’ a 28-year-old jobless resident of Barangay Kamalig in Meycauayan City in Bulacan is now in jail after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Mojon in Malolos City last Tuesday.

Confiscated from the suspect were nine heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000, the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill and a mobile phone he used in making contact with the poseur.

The suspect’s motorcycle was impounded by the DEG Special Operations Unit 3 which filed a non-bailable case for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against the latter.

A 2nd suspect identified as Romar Duhaman,35, a construction worker from Bgy. Muzon Javier in Taytay, Rizal was arrested in a sting in Bgy. Centro 1 in Claveria, Cagayan. The suspect yielded 18 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P122,400 and the marked money paid to him by an undercover agent.

Brig. Gen. Domingo said the other suspects were arrested as a result of their stepped-up effort to account for persons with pending warrants of arrest for violation of RA 9165 across the country.

One of the suspects identified as Ane Strout Vicente, a resident of Bgy. Cupang, Antipolo City in Rizal was arrested on the basis of a warrant of sale and possession of dangerous drugs with no bail recommended by Judge Marie Claire Victoria Sordan of the Antipolo City Regional Trial Court Branch 97.

The 2nd identified as Michael Bautista,45, a tricycle driver from Sitio Wawa in Bgy. Libis, Binangongan, Rizal was arrested on orders of Judge Katherin Au Go of the Binangonan RTC Branch 67 for violation of Section 12 or possession of drug equipment and paraphernalia under RA 9165.

Two others identified as Artemio and Daisy Salas, both residents of Ozamis City were arrested last Sunday in Marikina City on the strength of warrants for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 and RA 9516 or illegal possession of explosives issued by Judge Soliver Peras of the Ozamis City RTC Branch 15 on June 3, 2020 and robbery-in-band issued by Judge Fruto Teodorico III of the Mandaue City RTC Branch 86 in Cebu on July 19, 2021.

The 5th identified as Daniel John Dizon,28, was arrested on Monday in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. The suspect was ordered to serve his drug sentence by Judge Remigio Escalada Jr. of the Caloocan City RTC Branch 123 on July 25, 2022.

The 6th identified as William Zulueta was nabbed in New Antipolo Street in Tondo, Manila on the basis of a warrant for sale and possession of drugs issued by Judge Danilo Leyva of the Manila RTC Branch 175 with no bail recommended.

The 7th suspect,Marthe Gianny Jose Rubio,25, a resident of Bgy Maslog in Sibulan, Negros Oriental was collared on the strength of a non-bailable warrant issued by Judge Arlene Catherine Dato-Villegas of the Sibulan RTC Branch 39 on July 4, 2022.

Another identified as Sonny Formalejo,42, a resident of Bgy. Trece Martires Hugo Perez in Cavite City was nabbed last Wednesday in Bgy. Tambo in Parañaque City on orders of Judge Ralph Lee of the Quezon City RTC Branch 83.

The 9th identified as Rodrigo Manalo,50, a resident of Bgy. Palangoy in Binangonan, Rizal was arrested last Wednesday on the basis of a non-bailable warrant for violation of RA 9165 issued by Judge Kathrine Au Go of the Binangonan RTC Branch 67.

Another identified as Alejandro Segundo,58, a carpenter from Manggahan, Balagtas, Batangas City was arrested last Thursday on orders of Judge Charito Macapagal-Sawali of the Batangas City RTC Branch 4.

The 11th identified as Roberto Lazares,41, another construction worker from Talaba VII in Bacoor City, Cavite was collared Thursday on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Arnel Espiritu of the Bacoor City RTC Branch 110.

The 12th identified as Alvin dela Cruz,35, of Bgy. 171, Caloocan City was arrested on the basis of a ‘service of sentence’ order issued by Judge Bernard Rosario of the Caloocan City RTC Branch 120.
