THE Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) already has leads on the identities of the persons who allegedly forged the signature of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos Jr. to come up with a fake appointment letter of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) commissioner.

The forged appointment letter said that Attorney Abraham Espejo has been named as new BI commissioner by the Chief Executive.

Azurin said he has instructed PNP-CIDG director, Brigadier Gen. Ronald O. Lee to conduct a thorough investigation into the forgery of President Marcoses’ signature and the use of the government seal on the supposed appointment of Espejo.

“Following the directive of President Marcos, we initiated our investigation and started tracing the roots of those published alleged falsified document on all media platforms,” said Lee.

The PNP-CIDG director said they are on their way to finding out the source of distribution and circulation of the said document.

Those involved in this unscrupulous act will be facing punishment in violation of Article 161 of the Revised Penal Code or counterfeiting the great seal of the Government of the Philippine Islands and forging the signature or stamp of the Chief Executive.

“Babantayan namin ito hanggang matunton natin ang may kagagawan. We are also encouraging our friends from the media to join us () in seeking the truth and to come forward if they have any knowledge about this incident,” Lee added.
