PNP-CIDG agents nab PH’s most wanted

PHILIPPINE National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group director Major General Romeo M. Caramat Jr. on Thursday announced the arrest of one of the country’s most wanted criminals in Baguio City.

The official identified the suspect as Ricardo Siador Jr. alias ‘Joker,’ 61, of Barangay Moreno, Binalonan, Pangasinan. Joker is wanted for string of murder cases, according to the police.

He carries a P160,000 bounty on his head offered by the Department of Interior and Local Government on October 20, 2021.

Caramat said members of the CIDG Pangasinan Provincial Field Unit, with the support of officers from the Baguio City Police Office, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office and the Police Regional Office 1 tracked down Joker on Tuesday in Bgy. Balacbac in Sto. Tomas Proper, Baguio City.

The official said the suspect was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Elizabeth Berdal of the Urdaneta City Regional Trial Court Branch 47 in Pangasinan on February 2, 2022.

He has two other warrants of arrest for murder issued by Judge Junius Dalaten of the Villasis RTC Branch 50 on March 7 last year and by Judge Romeo Agacita Jr. of the San Fernando City, La Union RTC Branch 27 on August 5, 2020.

No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused.

The suspect is also the subject of a warrant of arrest for frustrated murder issued by Judge Jovito Samadan of the Urdaneta City RTC Branch 45 on February 7, 2022 and a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2012 issued by the same judge on the same date.

A P280,000 bail was recommended for the temporary freedom of the suspect in connection with the frustrated murder and illegal possession of firearms charges filed against him.

“Itong akusado ay sinasabing leader ng Siador Criminal Gang na involved sa gun-for-hire activities sa mga probinsya ng Pangasinan at La Union,” said the official.

The suspect was described as a former member of the ‘Ponceja Crime Group’ but later formed his own gang. He is now being held at the CIDG Pangasinan PFU office pending presentation to the courts.
