A BATANGAS policeman whose house was completely destroyed by the recent powerful typhoon “Kristine” on Christmas Day got the biggest gift he can receive: A new simple home constructed by his colleagues.

Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil on Wednesday led the turnover and blessing ceremonies for the newly-constructed home for Patrolman Nikki Brotonel in Bgy. Leviste in Laurel, Batangas.

The swift reconstruction project was initiated last November 9 by Police Regional Office 4-A director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth T. Lucas.

Marbil was also joined by Laurel Mayor Lyndon M. Bruce, Vice Mayor Aries Parilla, and Bgy. Leviste chairwoman Gem Encarnacion during the event, which coincided with a gift-giving for children of local policemen.

The PNP chief also recognized officers from the Batangas Police Provincial Office and the PRO4-A Regional Mobile Force Batalion led by Col. Ledon D. Monte and Col. Joseph Adelbert A. Aliño who were instrumental in the construction of Pat. Brotonel’s home.

The newly- constructed house features complete electrical and water systems, a tiled bathroom, a fully functional kitchen, and essential living spaces, ensuring it is ready for move-in by its new occupants.

This milestone reflects the PNP’s dedication to the welfare of its members, especially during challenging times, officials said

“This newly constructed home is a testament to the Bayanihan spirit that binds the PNP family. When challenges arise, we stand united—proving that no storm can dampen our resolve to support one another. As we hand over this home, let it serve as a sanctuary of love and hope for the Brotonel family, and as a symbol of our collective commitment to service, compassion, and solidarity,” said Marbil.

Brotonel said their new home represents more than just a roof over their heads.

“I am deeply thankful for the PNP leadership, especially to our Chief PNP and our Regional Director PBGen Lucas, my fellow officers, and everyone who made this possible. This new home is more than just a house; it’s a symbol of hope and recovery for my family,” the cop said.

The project was a collaborative effort of the PRO4-A Bayanihan Engineering Team and the Batangas PPO, underscoring the PNP’s commitment to ensuring the welfare and well-being of its personnel.

“As the PNP upholds its vision of a “Mahusay, Matatag, at Maasahan na Kapulisan,” this initiative serves as a shining example of its dedication to building a modern and compassionate police force for a better and safer Philippines,” said Marbil.
