THE country’s top cop yesterday said they are still awaiting the issuance of detailed guidelines on the use of village health passes for unvaccinated passengers before enforcing them.
“This is an effective system in determining if going outdoor is backed by justifiable cause particularly to buy essential goods or avail of essential services,” General Dionardo B. Carlos said.
The Philippine National Police chief expressed belief that clear instruction in the implementation will be helpful to avoid confusion and resistance from the affected residents.
“We have received reports about the proliferation of fake vaccination cards since the launch of the ‘no vaccination, no ride’ policy of the Department of Transportation (DOTr). Now, the possibility of producing fake health passes is never remote, so we need to be specific with the inspection and verification process,” Gen. Carlos said.
“The PNP commits to following the mandate if ever there might be fresh rules or adjustments from the previous procedure just to improve the enforcement,” he added.
