PNP acknowledges top men, women
OUTSTANDING officers and men of the Philippine National Police (PNP) who have made significant contributions to make the country peaceful and safe are among the awardees during the recent 123rd Police Service Anniversary at Camp Crame.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) headed by Major General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. bagged major awards in the campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality.
The NCRPO was cited for being a model of excellence in the fight against crime amid its initiatives to continue to inspire confidence and trust in the communities as envisioned by PNP chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil.
Its accomplishments also showcased what strategic planning, community engagement and unwavering commitment to justice can bring to the national police force.
As a result, the NCRPO chief received the Special Unit Award (Philippine National Police Unit-Police Regional Office Level)” and the “Most Number of Arrest on Illegal Drugs-Police Regional Office Level” award.
The Southern Police District, headed by Brigadier Gen. Leon Victor Z. Rosete, received an award from the President for having the “Most Number of Arrest on Illegal Drugs-District Level.”
NCRPO Regional Intelligence Division chief, Colonel Jess B. Mendez was also recognized as the “Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) for Operations.”
SPD District Community Affairs and Development Division chief Col. Jenny DC Tecson also got a “Special Individual Award” in recognition of her outstanding contributions to community engagement and development initiatives.
Tecson’s efforts in building strong community relations and implementing effective development programs have significantly enhanced public trust and cooperation with the NCRPO in general and the SPD in particular.
The Taguig City Police Station 6 under Col. Christopher F. Olazo was recognized for achieving the “Most Number of Arrest on Illegal Drugs – Police Station Level.”
According to the PNP, the Taguig police station’s relentless pursuit of justice, coupled with strategic operational planning, has led to numerous successful drug operations, significantly reducing drug-related activities in Taguig City.
Those accolades highlighted the NCRPO’s relentless efforts in combating illegal drugs, enhancing community relations, and maintaining peace and order.
During the same event, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., assisted by Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin C. Abalos Jr. and Gen. Marbil, also presented plaques to the other awardees.
The outstanding policemen include Col. Samuel S. Delorino of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A as the Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration, Lieutenant Col. Baldwin F. Sokoken Jr. of the Cordillera Police Regional Office as Best Junior PCO for Administration; and Major Renante N. Arambuyong of the PRO5 as the Best Junior PCO for Operations.
Others were Police Executive Master Sergeant Rodalyn P. Sorongon of the PRO-6 as the Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration; Police Senior MSgt. Nomer I. Sabacan of the PRO-9 in as the Best Senior PNCO for Operations; Corporal Al-Benyashier M. Sahibbal of PRO-9 as the Best Junior PNCO for Administration; and Cpl. Reygie A. Lamera from PRO-6 as Best Junior PNCO for Operations.
The Non-Uniformed Personnel who were awarded were NUP Edna P. Baclayo of the PRO4-B in Mimaropa region as Best NUP (Supervisory Level) and NUP Marites O. Sergio of the PNP Finance Service as the Best NUP (Non-Supervisory Level).
Other special awardees were the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office; the Member Church of God International; Ms. Josefa Prado Callos, the Office of the 1st Congressional District of Ilocos Norte; the Cavite Provincial Government; and the Tuguegarao City local government.
The PRO-2 in Cagayan Valley was also commended for having the Highest Number of Arrested Wanted Persons based on Percentage while the Cavite Police Provincial Office was honored for the Most Number of Arrests on Illegal Drugs (PPO Level).
