Pinoy TNTs
ADMITTEDLY, thousands of Filipinos, including children, are among those who live illegally in the United States.
All of them now face deportation as US President Donald Trump hits hard at the so-called TNT (Tago ng Tago) foreigners.
Aware of this, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has stressed its readiness to help affeced Filipinos.
Labor Secretary Bienvenido “Benny” Laguesma said DOLE will provide various forms of assistance to Pinoy deportees.
In the view of many, the government ought to help these Filipinos find employment in foreign lands, like Canada,Germany and United Kingdom.
It’s because the government is still in the process of creating more quality and high-paying jobs in the country.
In fact, Filipinos, including professionals, notably nurses, doctors and engineers. still prefer to work abroad.
It’s not because they don’t like to work in the country, according to former overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
“Ang totoo niyan ay walang right-minded na kababayan natin ang gustong lumayo sa kanyang mga mahal sa buhay,” said a one-time migrant worker.
“Pero kailangang magsakripisyo tayo kung gusto nating makatapos ng pag-aaral ang aring mga anak,” he added.
But President Marcos is doing everything to create enough quality local jobs to encourage our workers to just stay in the country.
In our view, President Marcos is succeeding in generating more quality local jobs.
