Historic initiative to bring Duterte ‘malasakit’ closer to grassroots folk
MONKAYO, Davao de Oro – POLITICAL bigwigs here on Monday afternoon launched the “Sara para sa Barangays ” initiative to bring closer to the grassroots level the programs of government of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) vice presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte that will also further solidify the hold of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. in the presidential race.
Vice-Governor Maricar Zamora, Rep. Manuel “Way Kurat” Zamora, Davao de Oro Gov. Jayvee Tyron L. Uy, mayors, board members, councilors and other community leaders introduced the concept of Sara for the Barangays wherein the vice presidential candidate will champion the interest of the people in the barangay level, especially on education, health, jobs and livelihood.
“Mayor Sara will champion the interest of grassroots folk in this historic initiative,” Maricar Zamora, stalwart of the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), said during the event held at the Octa M Farm in Monkayo.
Deputy Speaker and Surigao del Sur Rep. Prospero “Butch” Pichay, Jr., Lakas-CMD secretary general, congratulated the local officials and organizers of the event that supported Duterte, Lakas-CMD party chairperson.
“This is a very impressive event today (Monday) and I am very proud that I am part of this history. Today we are launching the Sara Para Sa Barangays, may legacy na kasi ang kanyang ama at marami nang naging programa sa barangays na atin na lamang i-strengthen. We have so many programs in the government that need barangays as partners,” said Pichay who attended the historic event here.
“Nandiyan ang malaking puso ni Mayor Sara para sa barangays, hindi lamang sa mayor, gobernador, at bise-gobernador. Kung ano ang problema sa mga barangay, kinailangang bigyan ng malaking tulong at gagawin iyan ni Mayor Sara,” Pichay said.
“We want to inform the people in barangays, including its officials that Mayor Sara and BBM have good and better programs for them,” Pichay added.
This developed as they declared support for the vice presidential bid of Duterte and the UniTeam Alliance led by Marcos.
“We are happy na dito sa probinsiya namin ginawa ang launching ng Sara for the Barangays. As part of Davao region, gusto naming ipakita sa mga probinsiya ng Pilipinas na ang aming suporta sa kanya ay very strong,” Maricar Zamora said.
“The directive of Mayor Sara to HNP is to support all the way the UniTeam led by President Bongbong Marcos,” Maricar Zamora, also a stalwart of HNP, said.
For his part, Way Kurat Zamora, a stalwart of HNP and at the same time the provincial chairman of the Lakas-CMD, said, “Malakas talaga si Sara, malayong-malayo sa ibang mga kandidato. Sure winner talaga. Malakas rin si BBM, talagang solid ang probinsiya sa BBM-Sara. Very confident kaming mananalo sila.”
In asking for the support of his constituents, Uy said Duterte needs a cooperative president in the name of Marcos.
Pichay said the BBM-Sara is a “dream team and the outcome of the election is definitely in favor of BBM-Sara. This is not just a victory for BBM-Sara, but most especially for the Filipino people.”
