PDP-Laban releases possible senatorial bets for 2022
THE ruling Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) released its initial and partial list of possible senatorial candidates for 2022 national elections.
The list includes six Cabinet members, a governor, a member of the House and other known personalities.
In a statement, PDP-Laban Secretary General Melvin Matibag named the possible frontrunners as Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez; Quirino Gov. Dakila “Dax” Cua; and the six cabinet members — Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade; Labor and Employment Sec. Silvestre Bello III; Public Works and Highway Sec. Mark Villar; Cabinet Sec. Karlo Nograles; Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo and Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
“Ang tinitingnan natin dito winnability. Siyempre tinitingnan din natin dito track record at relationship sa pangulo,” Matibag said.
Initially, actor Robin Padilla and host Willie Revillame were mentioned but according to Matibag, there are no confirmation yet if they wanted to join senatorial race.
Earlier, the PDP-Laban said they are eyeing the Bong Go-Rodrigo Duterte tandem in the presidential-vice presidential elections next year.
