DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said the ruling party PDP-Laban rejected her appeal to support her and former Senator Bongbong Marcos’ candidacies.

Mayor Sara, a vice presidential candidate under Lakas-CMD, posted this video statement in her Facebook account and hinted at the possible Bongbong-Sara tandem in the 2022 elections.

According to Mayor Sara, her former party Hugpong ng Pagbabago once asked the support of the PDP-Laban, which was chaired by her father President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Ang aking partido ay nakipag-alyansa at humingi ng suporta para kay Bongbong Marcos at para sa akin matapos kong tanggapin ang inyong hamon at panawagan. Tinanggihan ito ng PDP at naiintindihan natin ito,” Mayor Sara said.

However, Mayor Sara assured her supporters that she remains close to the PDP members.

“Pero gusto ko lamang na linawin — walang pangalan na sinisira o dinudungisan, walang sinasagasaan, walang inaagrabyado, inaaway, pinapaiyak o inaapi,” she stressed.

After leaving the HNP, Mayor Sara joined Lakas-CMD and was chosen as its vice presidential bet.

Following her filing of the certificate of candidacy, Marcos’ Partido Federal ng Pilipinas immediately passed a resolution adopting her as its vice presidential candidate.

Mayor Sara still asked her allies and supporters to continue backing the Duterte administration.

She asked them to stay calm as the 2022 national elections heats up.

The sealed alliance of Bongbong and Sara Duterte is a “Unity Team” (UniTeam), according to the spokesperson of Davao City mayor.

Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco, Duterte’s spokesperson, welcomed the declaration of Marcos of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) party and Duterte of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) led by House

The PFP party said it takes pride in the formalization of the BBM-SARA ticket for the 2022 national elections.

“We believe that through this formidable tandem, our nation can recover, heal, and be great once again. Through their unifying partnership, with the help of the PFP-Lakas CMD coalition and our allies, we can begin the noble task of nation building. With the BBM-Sara Duterte ticket, truly sama-sama tayong babangon muli!” the PFP said.

SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go on Wednesday assured that he supports the vice-presidential bid of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Go made the statement after Duterte-Carpio claimed that the ruling PDP-Laban party had refused to support her tandem with former dictator’s son Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the 2022 elections.

Go said he will let PDP-Laban clarify the issue “in due time,” but said he supports Duterte-Carpio’s vice presidential bid.

“Alam ko naman po na wala kaming tinatanggihan. Being the administration party, we have always exerted efforts to reach out to those who are supportive of President Rodrigo Duterte,” he said in a statement.

“With regard to Mayor Sara, we always wish her well. As I have said earlier, kung ako lang ang tatanungin, siya ang aking sinusuportahan sa pagka-Bise Presidente,” he added.

The Presidential Daughter has sought the support of political parties for her and Marcos Jr.’s run in next year’s elections.

Go, meanwhile, assured that the PDP-Laban PDDS have a very strong alliance.

“We have joined the PDDS and have followed the internal rules and processes of both PDDS and PDP Laban,” Go said.

“We are committed to the PDDS-PDP Laban alliance and will support the common candidates of both parties,” the senator added. Jester Manalastas and Marlon Purificacion
