THE ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) has officially proclaimed its vice presidential bet and senatorial candidates.

PDP-Laban president Alfonso Cusi led the proclamation rally for vice presidential bet and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and the senatorial line-up which was composed of at least seven hopefuls.

Mayor Sara is running under the Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago. She was adopted by the PDP-Laban and People’s Reform Party.

Dubbed as Tuloy ang Pagbabago, the proclamation rally was held in San Mateo Rizal, on Saturday, March 5.

Mayor Sara was not present because of her scheduled sortie in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The seven “Tatak Duterte” senatorial candidates of the party are action star Robin Padilla, broadcaster Rey Langit, House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta, former Cabinet Secretaries Greco Belgica, Salvador “Sal” Panelo, John Castriciones and former Energy Usec. Astra Pimentel.

In the next few days, the party will be announcing guest candidates from other political parties.

In a statement, Cusi said it is the marching order of President Rodrigo Duterte to the party’s candidates to continue the genuine empowerment of all Filipinos, especially to the poorest of the poor, neglected, minority, indigenous people and of course, to our next generation.

Cusi added that the PDP Laban has also formally launched its “11- point Agenda for Continuity” in the Proclamation Rally.

“Because they are ‘Tatak Duterte’, our PDP Laban senatorial candidates will continue the reform agenda of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and even institutionalize the President’s advocacies, vision and ‘Tapang at Malasakit’ in all programs of government,” he said.

The PDP Laban has the proven track record that it can advance and deliver its 11-point Agenda for Continuity: the fight against corruption; Eradication of poverty; Advancement of peace and order; Ending the pandemic;Defeating communist terrorism in the country; Sustaining economic growth; Generation of jobs; Strengthening national defense and foreign relations; Educational reforms; Decentralization and local government empowerment; and, Charter change and Federalism.”

Cusi earlier announced that the party will start campaigning for its candidate on March 25.
